After a few rough noise/industrial/black metal albums the Finnish artist Absolute Key dives into the mellower seas of ambient and electronic music with ”Puut kantavat valoa”. The album is an amalgam of organic hums, rhythms and melodies and the darker shades of Finnish poetry, dwelling through the works of famous names like Eino Leino, Aleksis Kivi, Katri Vala and Edith Södergran.

The vocals – or recitation, as it is put properly – are taken care of well-known Finnish musicians, writers and actors like Joose Keskitalo, Laura Naukkarinen (Lau Nau), Kielo Kärkkäinen, Onerva Tikka and Juha Hurme but also mr. Absolute Key himself, Antti Klemi (Circle Of Ouroborus). All in all, ”Puut kantavat valoa” is a meditative sound poetry journey to the source of Finnish art, without forgetting the rough edges and rugged shadows.

The album was previously released by Finnish labels Soit Se Silti (digital) and Tampereen vinyl (vinyl). Now it sees the light in by Russian label Death Knell Productions in an aesthetic six-panel digipack CD format.
